France Stance In Geneva To Damage Its National Interests
Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Chairman of Iran-France Parliamentary Friendship Group Hassan Kamran said Monday that recent stance taken by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in Geneva would damage the countryˈs national interests.
During the latest round of nuclear talks between Iran and the G5+1 in Switzerland held on November 7-9, Fabius raised certain issues which slowed down the trend of the talks.
Fabius move would bear no fruit as other members of the sextet (US, Britain, Russia, China and France plus Germany) are interested in progress of the talks, Kamran, also a member of Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told IRNA.
He reiterated that Fabius deal-breaking stands are unlikely to influence the trend of talks. ˈAlthough his position caused just a short delay in the discussions, it cannot lead to a deadlock.”
Referring to the long history of Tehran-Paris relations, Kamran regretted that France has damaged the trend of the nuclear talks in order to please the Zionist regime.
ˈUnfortunately, certain French political parties are influenced by the Zionist regime and this would damage the country’s national interests,” said the MP.
Kamran suggested Fabius to stop damaging Parisˈ national interests during the next round of talks to be held in Geneva on November 20.
“Iran and France can still have good cooperation in major regional and international issues but this fully depends on the French government,” he added./end
