French Envoy: Iran-France Should Observe Mutual Interests

Tehran, Feb 1, IRNA - French Ambassador to Tehran Bruno Foucher said on Tuesday Iran and France should make use of their common potentials on the basis of mutual interests.
Foucher made the remarks in a meeting with Head of Iran-French Parliamentary Friendship Group Hassan Kamran in Tehran.
Iran and France have many potentials to expand their relations in the different political, economic and cultural fields, Foucher noted, reiterating that all these grounds should be explored and used through mutual talks and based on mutual interests.
Foucher described Iran as country with ancient civilization and underlined French officials’ willingness to hold talks with it.
Underlining the need for exchange of diplomatic and parliamentary delegations in a bid to removing probable misunderstanding between the two countries, Fousher said France wants Iran to keep its real strategic position in the Middle East.
Kamran, for his part, said western countries' sanctions against Iran are baseless because the global arrogance has always taken a hostile position against Iran since the victory of Islamic Revolution.
He said such policies by western countries have served to make Iranians stronger and more resistant whereas the enemies have been the main losers.
Kamran called for expansion of cooperation between the two countries in different fields especially in parliamentary domain and expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate with France in establishing peace and stability in the region.
The lawmaker said mutual and multilateral talks between Iran, France and European countries can lead to establishment of durable peace and security in the region and the world./end
