Gen Prayut to meet prominent ASEAN businesspeople

SOCHI, Russia, May 20 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha will on Friday attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit and meet leading businesspeople and politicians during the Russia- ASEAN Business Forum in the Russian resort town of Sochi. Gen Prayut is scheduled to arrive at a hotel where the Summit would be held while Russian President Vladimir Putin would welcome the ASEAN leaders. He and other government leaders from fellow member countries of ASEAN would meet prominent businessmen and would exchange ideas with them on trade and investment, economic, and technology. The meeting would also open opportunities in widening trade and investment. The Russia-ASEAN Business Forum is expected to draw more than 234 businesspeople from ASEAN and Russia to meet with the government leaders. Gen Prayut is scheduled to join a working lunch and discuss on economic cooperation between ASEAN, the Eurasian Economic Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation at the hotel. Gen Prayut will leave for Thailand from Sochi airport and he is due to arrive home early Saturday. (TNA)
