Georgian PM, U.S. forces commander in Europe discuss Afghanistan

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 11 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and commander of the U.S. forces in Europe James Stavridis have discussed the mission of Georgian servicemen in Afghanistan under the aegis of NATO in Tbilisi. Stavridis thanked Ivanishvili for Georgia's participation in the ISAF military operation, the Prime Minister's press service told Trend on Wednesday. He stressed that Georgian servicemen perform their duty in Afghanistan with honour and have proven themselves as excellent servicemen. Ivanishvili thanked the U.S. for Georgia's assistance in the military sphere and said the command of U.S. armed forces in Europe, is the inspiration of this cooperation. "This command is responsible for cooperation between Georgia and the U.S in the military area and plays a very important role," Prime Minister said. Ivanishvili and Stavridis called for intensifying the relations which corresponds to the spirit of the Charter on Strategic Partnership. Do you have any feedback?
