Georgian President: Margaret Thatcher is bright example of non-conformism and struggle for ideas

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 9 /. Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, on his page on a social network posted a statement on the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The President emphasized the activities of Thatcher and recalled a meeting with her.
"I met with Margaret Thatcher several times in recent years, but her personality was charming before, even in childhood. She is one of the best examples of non-conformism and the struggle for views in history. She breathed new life into the UK because she did not put up with defeat and conformist stereotypes, resisted temptations of conformism and actually formed a new mentality in the country and Europe. I'll never forget her words during our last meeting in the 'Ritz' hotel in London: "You are doing everything in Georgia I wanted to do in Britain, but I was not able to consummate this."
I hope that the phrase "not able consummate", used by Thatcher about her country will never be used against Georgia," the statement says.
Margaret Thatcher died from a stroke at the age of 87 on Monday.
