Government works to turn digital in 5 years
BANGKOK, March 8 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha announced on Wednesday that the work of the government would become digital in five years to be cost-efficient and effectively meet changing demands of the public.
He sent the message while opening a seminar on "Thailand Digital Government Vision 2017-2021" at Government House.
The government realised the importance of applying technology to improve its work. In five years there would be real differences, cost-effectiveness and satisfied demands of people, Gen Prayut said.
"I hope that all organisations will work for that with determination in a united manner for the utmost benefits of the nation and people," he said.
He also said the armed forces should make use of technology while understanding the work of civilians.
On the same occasion, the prime minister said he had not abused his power under Article 44 of the interim constitution.
The article had been exercised only when normal laws could not be enforced or did not exist for particular issues and the exercise was aimed only at integrating and streamlining the work of different organisations, Gen Prayut said.
The government was always responsible for the special law exercise and was using it with care, he said. (TNA)
