Baku, Azerbaijan, June 12
By Emin Aliyev - Trend:
Gymnastics is a very important sport for the future generations, Georges Guelzec, President of the European Union of Gymnastics (UEG) said at the press conference held in Azerbaijani capital of Baku on June 12.
He went on to add that the forthcoming European Games will be very interesting for the audience, and one of the advantages of these games will be that the fans won't have to wait for the outcome results.
"We will be focusing on acrobatic gymnastics. And I think it's the first time it will be launched next year," he stressed. "We want gymnastics to be more dynamic, so the fans and the TV viewers will understand the importance that we pay to this type of gymnastics. I think it will be our first trial, our first test, not only on the European level, but also worldwide, to involve more people and more fans."
Guelzec also stressed that there will be 19 types of sports in total at the European Games.
He added that at the European Games, six gymnastics disciplines will be presented, for a total time of two hours.
