HEAD OF PRESIDENT’S OFFICE MEETS SWISS RESEARCHERS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chief of Staff of the President’s Office P.Tsagaan received Tuesday Dr Andreas Auer, a professor of the Universities of Zurich and Geneva and the founder of the Center for Research on Direct Democracy, and Dr Corsin Bisaz, the senior researcher at the Center. The guests are on a visit here to give their consultation on the development of a draft law on citizens’ participation, initiated by the President in frames of the implementation of a “Promoting civil participation”—a second phase of the Governance and Decentralization Program (GDP) in Mongolia by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC). The guests noted that empowering of the localities requires great patience from the state authorities, and shared with Mr Tsagaan opinions on the development of the draft law. B.Amarsaikhan
