Heavy damage reported around Damascus

ANKARA (A.A) - February 21, 2012 - Dozens of residences have been either completely or partially damaged after weeks long of operations taking place in Zabadani district of the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Speaking to the AA via internet, an activist from Zabadani said that while most residences were damaged, dozens of families left Zabadani after fearing for their lives.
The Syrian military have used heavy weaponry in Zabadani. The home of Hassan Awad, a citizen living in Zabadani, has been completely destroyed. His home burned down except a copy of the holy Qur'an, the activist told the AA.
Awad and his 19-year-old son died in the operation. The other members of the family fled the scene and moved somewhere else, the activist added.

The organization said more than 350 Syrians were injured in Bab Amro on Tuesday in clashes.
