Hezbollah: Ill-famed AL left with another blot on reputation

Beirut, Nov 26, IRNA – A Lebanese Central Committee member said here Friday that the ill-famed Arab League (AL) is left with a new big blot on its dark reputation.
Shiekh Muhammad Yazbak made the comment after the AL suspended the Syrian membership while heavily assisting the Bahrain regime in brutal suppression of its own people.
Speaking with IRNA correspondent in Beirut, Sheik Yazbak accused the AL of following the demands of the White House like a blindfolded and shameless slave.
Yazbak who was speaking as the pre-sermons speaker of the Baalbek Friday Prayers, referring to the rapidly developing drastic regional events added, 'Lebanon is in need of stability and security today and anything that would lead to discord should be cast aside, including sectarian and tribal disputes.'
He added, 'The AL member countries have closed their eyes on prevailing realities. Don’t they see the prevailing conditions in Bahrain and that the small Persian Gulf nation is being brutally massacred by a small minority group that consider themselves as the owners of them? Some of them even argue that this is a religious revolution, having nothing to do with their nationality!'
Yazbak referred to the chaotic conditions in Syria and efforts aimed at sliding that country towards a civil war, which would in that case merely serve the interests of the Zionist regime, arguing, 'By grace of Almighty Allah that satanic dream would never come true.'
Focusing on Palestine issue, too, he said, 'Doesn't the Zionist townships' expansion issue any longer attract the attention of the Arab leaders, which are now expanding from the Holy Qods to the separation wall, and have the Zionist entity and the US satanic plots of the region which are the true enemies of the regional nations been replaced with the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria?'
Sheikh Yazbak reminded the Friday Prayer worshippers that they had always been reminded that the US embassies in the region were espionage dens, adding, 'In recent years the US ambassadors, such as Mr. Fleetman, and the others' efforts were aimed at establishment of espionage networks in Lebanon, and today the American dailies have confessed that the US plot has been defused due to Hezbollah's interference.'
Pointing out that those networks were at the service of Lebanon's enemy, the usurper racist Zionist regime of Israel, he asked, 'It is our right to ask about the role of those espionage networks in igniting the flames of disputes in the course of major developments in Lebanon.'
Meanwhile, in Friday Prayer sermons of Seida, Sheikh Afif Nablosi said, 'Discovery of the espionage network in Lebanon is proof for the US interference in the terrorist operations launched against the Lebanese nation.'
Pointing out that this discovery was a great defeat for the US foreign policy, he said, 'The Lebanese nation would never forget the treacherous role of that espionage network one of whose crimes has been spying in favor of Israel in the course of the 2006 war, which highlights the great significance of that discovery for the entire Lebanese nation.'
A large number of CIA so called 'informant' spies have been recently caught red handed in Lebanon, simultaneously with the arrest of dozens more in Iran, following which the US ambassador to Beirut has been summoned to the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, and Iran's response to the antagonist interference in its internal affairs remains to be declared in near future.
Several dozen spies working for the CIA in Iran and Lebanon have been caught, citing US officials with connections to the intelligence community.
According to an exclusive ABC report on Monday, “the spies were paid informants recruited by the CIA for two distinct espionage rings targeting Iran and the Beirut-based Hezbollah organization.”
The officials, cited by ABC, admitted that the loss of the two US spy rings in the Middle East represents “a setback of significant proportions in efforts to track the activities of the Iranian nuclear program and the intentions of Hezbollah against Israel.”
The exposure of the two spy networks was first announced in televised statements by Iranian and Hezbollah leaders in May and June, but these statements have been widely ignored by US authorities and media.
ABC said that Hezbollah's internal security arm identified at least a dozen informants and the identities of several CIA case officers through two double agents, who tipped Hezbollah of a place in Beirut where CIA officers were meeting with their assets.
Almost at the same time, Iranian counter-intelligence “cracked” a secret internet communication method used by CIA-paid assets in Iran, leading to alleged arrests of at least 30 US and Israeli spies.
Several sources cited by ABC believe that the loss of two spy rings was “the result of a lack of professionalism in the US intelligence community,” while others say occasional setback are inevitable in such a “risky business” as espionage.
The US authorities have not commented on the report./end
