India And Korean Leaders To Visit Indonesia
Jakarta, Oct 10 (Antara) - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and South Korean President Park Geun-hye will visit Indonesia and meet President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Presidential special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah said in a press release on Thursday that President Yudhoyono will receive Manmohan Singh and Park Geun-hye on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
"Singh`s visit to Indonesia is the second after he came to attend the ASEAN Summit in Bali in 2011, while for Park, his visit will be the first since his inauguration as the South Korean president in February 2013," added Faizasyah.
President Yudhoyono, Prime Minister Singh, and President Park will discuss joint efforts to step up bilateral cooperation and regional issues of common concern.
In many aspects, there are some similar bilateral issues that will be the focus of their discussion as the three countries have strategic partnerships.
Therefore, Faizasyah said it could be anticipated that the issues to be discussed would cover their common efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, defence, security, and energy.
"A series of visits to Indonesia by state guests in less than two weeks indicate a strong commitment from friendly countries to build greater cooperation with Indonesia," he noted.
Faizasyah added that the visit to Indonesia by Prime Minister Singh and President Park is expected to strengthen the relations between Indonesia and India, and Indonesia and South Korea, particularly in realising various schemes of cooperation under the strategic partnership.
