Indonesia's Political Party, Golkar Confident Of Garnering 35 Per Cent Of Votes
By Ahmad Fuad Yahya
JAKARTA (Indonesia), June 20 (Bernama) -- Golkar is confident of garnering
up to 35 per cent of votes in the next Indonesian presidential election in 2014,
said its chairman, Aburizal Bakrie.
He said the party's popularity was rising and recent surveys placed the
party as having the strongest support among the people at 20.9 per cent of the
votes.
"The number will continue to increase over time. I believe with hard work,
Golkar will be able to get 35 per cent of the votes," he told Golkar cadres
during his visit to Ngawi and Madiun province, Tuesday.
On the presidential race poll results which placed him third, Aburizal said
his support was on the rise.
"Everything can still change. The margin of error in the survey is 2.9 per
cent while the difference between me and other presidential candidates is less
than one per cent," he said.
On his running mate for the vice-presidency, he said, "He must be a a high
calibre candidate who is in line with my thinking."
