Interior ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Iran visit Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex

Bishkek, Sept.13, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Kashkar Dzhunushaliyev and Iran Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli visited Ata-Beyit Historic and Memorial Complex. The Kyrgyz and Iranian interior ministers laid flowers at the memorial to the victims of the tragic events of 1916, a memorial monument to the victims of political repression, the press service of the Interior Ministry said. The delegation was briefed on the history of the Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex. In 1937, 137 people were shot, who were reburied 70 years later, and in 1991 the memorial was erected in their memory. Such outstanding state and public figures of Kyrgyzstan as Yusup Abdyrakhmanov, Torokul Aitmatov, Kasym Tynystanov and others are buried here. At the suggestion of famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov this memorial is called Ata-Beyit. Also, the ministers and members of delegations honored the memory of great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov by laying flowers at his grave. Print
