Iran’s envoy refutes Iraqi VP claims

TEHRAN, Dec. 31 (MNA) – The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad has categorically refuted Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi’s claims that Iran was behind Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s decision to imprison him on terror charges. Hashimi told The Washington Times in an exclusive interview on December 21, “Definitely Iran was involved.” Ambassador Hassan Danaiifar also dismissed news reports saying that Baghdad has requested Tehran to intervene in the case.
