Iran’s VP calls on President Zardari

Islamabad, Feb 8, IRNA – Iran’s Vice President for International Affairs Ali Seedlou on Tuesday called on President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed matters of mutual interest. President Zardari during the meeting said that he is looking forward to the upcoming visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Pakistan. “I am looking forward to the visit of my brother,” he said. The President welcomed the Iranian Vice President and expressed the hope that the visit would further strengthen bilateral relations and boost existing trade cooperation between the two countries. Seedlou tanked the Pakistani government for giving him a warm welcome and making his visit a success. He was confident that Iran-Pakistan relationship will continue to grow. Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Reza Haghighian and members of his delegation also accompanied Ali Seedlou, while Pakistani senior officials represented the Pakistani delegation. After the meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, Ali Seedlou will be leaving Islamabad for Tehran on Tuesday evening./end
