Iran Always Backs Integrated Iraq : Saeedlou

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou said Monday in Baghdad that Iran would always back an integrated Iraq. Saeedlou arrived in Iraq Monday morning to discuss issues of mutual interests with senior Iraqi officials. In a meeting with leader of the National Iraqi Alliance Ibrahim al-Jaafari, the Iranian diplomat said Iran would always support a united and integrated Iraq. Referring to the enormous natural resources of the two neighboring countries, Saeedlou said Tehran and Baghdad could use those resources to further serve their national interests. He also voiced Tehran’s readiness to share its rich experiences in all scientific and infrastructural fields with its “Iraqi brothers.” Meanwhile, Jaafari praised Iran’s efforts to confront intensive economic pressures exerted on the country by western powers. Despite all sanctions, Iran has successfully made major progresses and is a role model as an independent economic state in the world./end
