Iran at the center of anti-hegemonistic movement: Supreme Leader

TEHRAN, April 23(MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that the arrogant powers make threats against and impose sanctions on the Islamic system because Iran is at the center of the anti-hegemonistic movement.
The Leader made the remarks on Sunday during a meeting with a number of Army commanders, officers, and personnel, which was held to commemorate Iran’s National Armed Forces Day, which is April 17.
“Today, a movement is taking shape in the world that is opposed to dividing countries into hegemons and subservient (ones). Islamic Iran is at the center of this movement,” he stated.
“The cause of threats, (the use of) braggadocio, and sanctions against the Islamic system is (the fact that) Iran is the beating center of this movement,” he noted.
“This highly important movement, after the passage of more than three decades percolating through the body and soul of Muslim nations, has amassed into an accumulated force which has given rise to developments in Egypt and some other countries,” he said.
He went on to say that the global arrogance (forces of imperialism) is very afraid of this growing movement, adding that determined and faithful Iranian youth and insightful Iranian people are the cause of this fear because they have helped the movement advance.
In addition, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Iranian Armed Forces are an important part of the anti-hegemonistic movement, so it is essential that they maintain their full preparedness.
