Iran condemns decision to declare al-Quds Israel’s capital

TEHRAN, Jan.2 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast on Wednesday condemned the Knesset’s decision to declare al-Quds the capital of Israel.
According to the website of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, the Knesset has recently approved a draft law declaring al-Quds the eternal and untied capital of the Zionist state.
Mehmanparast said that the move is in clear violation of the historic rights of the Palestinians.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that this dangerous precedent is another step toward the complete Judaization of all Islamic sanctities and once again shows the racist nature of the Zionist regime and its acts of sacrilege to the sanctities of divine religions. And this issue, illustrates that they (the Zionists) are certain” that the international community would remain silent and regional countries would not take any practical measure to condemn the move, he stated.
He added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on all regional and international organizations and forums, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation… and the holy Quds committee affiliated with this organization, the purpose of whose establishment is to protect Islamic countries against the atrocities of the Zionist regime, to take a firm action to respond to such an inhumane action within the framework of their responsibilities.”
“It is necessary that the free-thinking people who are advocates of truth and justice use all of their capacities to defend the holy Quds, this holy place, as the symbol of the unity of divine religions, and firmly respond to aggressive actions of the Zionist regime,” Mehmanparast stated.
