Iran dismisses claims of contacting Syrian opposition

TEHRAN, Dec. 15 (MNA) – The Iranian Embassy in Damascus issued a statement on Wednesday dismissing news reports claiming that Tehran has invited Syrian opposition leaders to negotiations. “The Islamic Republic of Iran never intended to invite (Syrian) opposition forces and consult and negotiate with these groups. And if Iran makes such a decision, it would certainly make arrangements with Syrian officials,” the statement read.
