Iran, Ecuador on the same front: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN, Jan.15(MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the views shared by the Islamic Republic and Ecuador have led the two countries to be on the same front and pursue the path of justice and freedom. Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with President of National Assembly of Ecuador Fernando Cordero Cueva in Quito on Friday. Despite the long geographical distance between Iran and Ecuador, there is no distance between freedom-seeking beliefs of the two nations, Ahmadinejad stated. Ahmadinejad also described Ecuador as a lovely country with friendly people and expressed hope that Tehran-Quito relations would be promoted in the future. In the meeting, Cueva expressed satisfaction with the level of relations between the Islamic Republic and Ecuador and said the two countries, which share many affinities, should utilize their potential to promote ties more than before. President Ahmadinejad returned home on Saturday wrapping up a five-day visit to the four Latin American countries of Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Ecuador. He was welcomed by First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi and other officials.
