Iran FM Urges Immediate Settlement Of Syria Crisis

Amman, May 8, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi here on Tuesday called for settlement of Syria crisis given the fact that continued violence in Syria might spread the crisis to other countries. Salehi, who is in Amman, Jordan, for talks with Jordanian officials on regional and international developments, made the call for settlement of Syria crisis in a meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II. He highlighted sensitive conditions in the region and the need for regional countries, especially Syriaˈs neighbors, to take actions in that connection, urging peaceful settlement of Syria crisis. The Jordanian King, for his part, underlined Tehran-Amman cooperation in dealing with regional and international issues as Iran has an important position both in the region and the world of Islam. He hoped that bilateral ties would serve mutual interests./end
