Iran Has Turned Into An Influential Naval Power: Army Official

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA - Deputy Army Commander Brigadier General Abdolrahim Mousavi said that Iran has turned into a great influential naval power both in the region and in the entire globe. Talking to IRNA, Brigadier General Mousavi praised fruitful achievements of the recent 10-day Velayat-90 military exercises conducted in the Hormuz Strait, including waters in the Sea of Oman and free waters in the Indian Ocean up to Gulf of Aden. Emphasizing the capabilities of the Iranian armed forces, he regretted that the enemy is pursuing its hostile attitude towards the regional nations, particularly the Iranian people. Condemning the enemies' Iranophobia attempts in the region, Mousavi reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in promotion of peace, tranquility and friendship for all world nations and only resists against expansionist policies of the bullying powers./end
