Iran MPs Condemn Anti-Iran Allegation Made By Qatari Mufti

Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA – The cleric Members of Parliament on Sunday condemned Doha Friday prayer leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi for making anti-Iran statement. They said in a strongly-worded statement that Qaradawi should leave carnal desire and come back to Islam and consider the interests of Muslim World and avoid sowing discord among them. The Qatari Mufti had criticized Iran for not backing Syrian insurgents and warned the Muslim World on re-emergence of Iranian Empire. The illogical remarks have annoyed every Muslim, said the statement. It said that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not seek to set up a new empire, and that the country calls for formation of democratically-elected governments independent of global hegemony. How is it possible that Iran which backs Palestinian cause and accept to be target of bullying powers, the antagonists to Islam, to emerge as empire," questioned the statement. The Islamic Republic of Iran supports unity and solidarity in Syria and calls for people's role to determine their own fate, said the statement. Such allegations by Doha Friday prayer leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi is not astounding as he has a record of serving the Zionist regime and the US lackeys in Iraq and stirred a devastating terror in Iraq, said the statement. The Iranian MPs advised him to avoid sowing discord among Muslims to enable the united Islamic nations to resist to the enemies of Islam./end
