Iran Official : Dialog, Only Solution To Syria Crisis

Tehran, May 27, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Tunisia Peyman Jebeli stressed dialog as the only way to resolve the ongoing crisis in Syria. In an exclusive interview with the Tunisian daily ˈAl Chouroukˈ, Jebeli commented on the failure of the Syrian opposition groups. All groups currently stress the need to achieve a diplomatic solution to the Syrian crisis, said Jebeli, adding the military intervention is a big mistake. Asked about the Geneva 2 conference on Syrian crisis, the Iranian diplomat said Tehran supports any initiative aimed at settling the crisis through fair and diplomatic solutions in line with the Syrian-Syrian dialogue. Active presence of world countries and international organizations in Tehran meetings on Syria has proved Iranˈs key role in resolving the crisis, he reiterated. He further said the US and other bullying powers should hold responsible for their wrong approach towards Damascus which sacrificed the Syrian nation and inflicted great damage on the nation./end
