Iran-Russia To Promote Cooperation: Jalili

Tehran, March 14, IRNA - Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili said here on Tuesday that Iran and Russia will increase the scope of cooperation at the international level. In a meeting with deputy secretary of Russian Federation Security Council, Yugeny Lukiyanov, he referred to regional and international developments and described Tehran-Moscow cooperation as significant and beneficial to both nations’ interests. Jalili also congratulated him on the successful holding of the presidential elections and victory of Vladimir Putin. He also appreciated Patrushev’s invitation to Saint Petersburg Security Summit and described it as a suitable opportunity for forging interaction about the global affairs. Jalili also hailed the effective role of Iran-Russia cooperation in transition from unipolar world to multipolar world. Lukiyanov, for his part, criticized certain unilateral behaviors of the West and pointed to Russia’s positive attitude towards Iran’s progress in the scientific and technological fields and called for promotion of strategic ties in all arenas./end
