Iran Stresses Diplomatic Approach Towards Syrian Crisis

Tehran, Jan 8, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast here on Tuesday called for quick halt of the ongoing conflicts in Syria, stressing that a diplomatic approach should replace current situation in that country. “All who believe in supporting rights of the Syrian people and claim to be advocate of establishing democracy in different countries including Syria, should realize that the best way to meet demands of the Syrian people is to hold a referendum in a peaceful and stable atmosphere which is free from violence,” said the spokesman. He made the remarks during his weekly press conference. Mehmanparast stressed that the democratic approach should also be used in other regional states such as Bahrain./end
