Iran unveils new radar system

TEHRAN,June 3(MNA) – Iran unveiled a domestically manufactured long-range radar system, named the Qadir, during a ceremony held on Monday at a military site near the city of Garmsar in Semnan Province. Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base Commander Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili and a number of high-ranking officials of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Armed Forces attended the ceremony. The Qadir radar system, which has a range of about 1,100 kilometers, has been designed and manufactured by experts of the IRGC Aerospace Force. On Monday, the radar system became operational after being officially connected to the country’s integrated air defense network. Esmaeili said that the advanced radar system is able to deal with electronic warfare measures, adding that the probability that the system can be detected by anti-radar missiles is very low.
