Iranian interior minister meets Turkmen president

TEHRAN, May 12(MNA) – In a meeting in Ashkhabad on Friday, Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar held talks with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on various issues, including bilateral ties. During the meeting, Berdimuhamedow said that the Iranian and Turkmen nations share many historical and cultural affinities which can help the two countries to consolidate ties in all spheres. Mohammad-Najjar described the meeting as constructive and submitted the invitation letter of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Berdimuhamedow to participate in the upcoming meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran in late August. Mohammad-Najjar, at the head of a high-ranking delegation, traveled to Ashkhabad on Thursday to participate in an international ministerial conference on “Refugees in the Muslim World” which opened on May 11 and closes on May 12.
