Iranian Majlis speaker urges govt. to avoid managerial shakeups ahead of polls

TEHRAN, Jan.9 (MNA) – The Majlis speaker called on the administration’s senior officials not to remove or appoint officials ahead of the March parliamentary elections to prevent misunderstandings, contention, and exploitation of the situation, particularly governors and those who are in charge of running the elections. Elections are an “auspicious event” and efforts should be made to help their smooth running, Ali Larijani said on Sunday. He also called on the administration to work out solutions to help decrease unemployment rate and goods prices.
