Iranian President Celebrates National Army Day

Tehran, April 17, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad celebrated the Iran National Army Day during grand ceremonies held in southern Tehran close to the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini on Tuesday. A number of ranking Iranian militarily commanders both from the Armed Forced Headquarters and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) are attending the ceremony. The President addressed the ceremony before units of the Iranian Army staged massive parades to display their defensive capabilities and military preparedness. Army's ground, air and naval forces displayed their military might once again, reassuring the nation that they are ready as ever before to defend Iran's territorial integrity./end
