Iranian, Turkish, Azerbaijani FMs to meet tomorrow

TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) – The foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan will hold a trilateral meeting in the eastern province of Erzurum, Turkey, on Wednesday, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Monday.
The first and the second meeting of Turkish, Azerbaijani and Iranian foreign ministers was held respectively in the northwestern Iranian city of Urmia, the capital of West Azerbaijan Province in April 2011 and in the Azeri city of Nakhichevan on March 7, 2012.
Following the first meeting, Salehi said the three countries had agreed to expand “cooperation with other regional countries and serve peace and stability in the region” in order to “help establish and guarantee peace and stability.”
And during the second meeting, Ali Akbar Salehi and his Turkish and Azeri counterparts Ahmet Davutoglu, and Elmar Mammadyarov discussed various issues including the latest developments in the region and ways to enhance cooperation in all arenas particularly in the fields of energy, transportation and trade as well as a joint campaign against terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime.
According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s statement, during the Erzurum meeting, the ministers will exchange views on the possibilities of expansion of regional ties on the issues of their common interests and will review decisions adopted at the meetings formerly held in Urumia and Nakhichevan.
