Iran's Salehi Meets Pakistani Counterpart

New York, Sept 29, IRNA - - Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Friday met with Pakistani Counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar on the sidelines of 67th annual session of the UN General Assembly on Thursday. They reviewed bilateral ties and recent international developments in the meeting. Salehi and Rabbani discussed some issues especially those relating to economy, energy, culture and regional cooperation. They exchanged views on the immediate laying of gas pipeline between Iran and Pakistan and underlined cooperation in the fields of electricity, energy and production of wheat. The two foreign minister also talked about Tehran-Islamabad mutual cooperation in D-8 in the next general assembly session which is going to be held in Pakistan. They reviewed regional developments, especially what is happening in Afghanistan, Syria and in the Persian Gulf and Iran's regional roles./end
