Iran's VP Congratulates Kandil's Appointment As Egypt's PM

Tehran, Aug 11, IRNA – First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi, in a message on Saturday, congratulated Hisham Kandil for his appointment as the Egyptian Prime Minister. Rahimi expressed hope that taking the "significant position in this critical juncture of the history of the great nation of Egypt," Kandil would help progress and development of the country. Rahimi also hoped that Tehran-Cairo relations and cooperation would further boost during Kandil's term in office. Kandil served as the irrigation minister in the interim government of Kamal Ganzouri after hossni Mubarak was overthrown. He was appointed prime minister by President Mohamed Mursi in late July./end
