Iraq does not intend to oust Syria government :Iraqi ambassador

TEHRAN, Dec. 12 (MNA)--On Iraq' stance towards Syria, the Iraqi ambassador to Iran Majeed al-Sheikh said that unlike the Arab League, Iraq does not intend to oust Beshar al-Assad's government. The ambassador said Iraq is opposed to Arab League’s stance towards Damascus as Baghdad is of the opinion that Syria's political condition is different from that of other Arab countries. Insurgencies in Syria have roots in ethnic, religious and tribal differences, he stated. Ambassador Majeed al-Sheikh said the religious and ethnic slogans chanted by insurgents and weapons found across Syria prove the intervention of foreigners in the country.
