Iraqi Kurdistan PM meets Iranian security official

TEHRAN,Nov.13(MNA)--The Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Idris Barzani held a meeting with Saeed Jalili, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council secretary, on Monday. During the meeting, Jalili stated that common interests and threats have led to the strengthening of ties between Iran and Iraq. He also called for the maintenance of vigilance in the face of the plots being hatched with the aim of sowing discord among regional countries. Barzani hailed Iran’s assistance to Iraqi Kurdistan Region at its hour of need and said that the value of bilateral trade has exceeded $8 billion. Another meeting was also held between the Iraqi official and Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on the same day, in which the two sides discussed bilateral issues. Larijani said that the Iranian parliament supports the efforts to enhance ties. And Barzani stated that the Iraqi Kurdistan Region will never forget Iran’s moral and material support.
