Irish President receives Abdullah bin Zayed

Dublin: President of Ireland Michael D Higgins received on Wednesday in Dublin, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, who is currently visiting Ireland. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Irish President, wishing, progress and welfare to the Irish people. He underlined the importance of bilateral relations and ways of bolstering them in all fields, including the economic, energy and investment domains. For his part, the Irish President asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey his greetings to Sheikh Khalifa, stressing his country's keenness on enhancing ties with the UAE He added that his country takes interest in developing relations with the UAE given its distinguished stature. During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them. The Irish President and the UAE Foreign Minister also tackled a number of issues of mutual interest.
