Japanese Reactionaries' Mockery of Koreans Denounced

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- As already reported, a powerful quake jolted Kumamoto area in Kyushu, Japan recently, causing big casualties and huge material losses. Not long after the quake, a Japanese internet news operated by right-wing reactionaries posted mysterious letters reading "Koreans in Kumamoto poisoned wells", and rumor inciting anti-Korean feelings had it that "Kumamoto should be careful of possible uprising by Koreans", a spokesman for the Committee for Aiding Overseas Compatriots of Korea said in a statement on Monday. Noting that such false rumors stunning people remind one of the great Kanto earthquake in September 1923 when Japanese samurais massacred Koreans, the statement went on: It is very foolish for the Japanese reactionaries who committed extra-large state-sponsored crimes against the Korean nation indelible down through generations in the past to try to cover up damage and nightmare of the recent quake by creating an atmosphere hostile toward Koreans and use it as an opportunity for inciting hostility to the Korean nation as they did at the time of the great Kanto quake. The DPRK is the dignified politico-ideological power and world-level military power with a powerful nuclear deterrent. It will never allow an insult to its dignity and sovereignty and a mockery of the destiny and vital rights of the Korean nation but decisively punish the perpetrators. The Japanese authorities should clearly understand the gravity of the despicable discrimination racket against Koreans, immediately take measures for preventing the racket and legal steps and stop at once all the moves against the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan. -0-
