Jeenbekov’s congratulations to Steinmeier and Merkel on German Unity Day

Bishkek, Oct.3, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz leader Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on Germany's national holiday - German Unity Day, his press service said. “I am pleased to note that the two countries have established political dialogue and trustworthy ties of cooperation at various levels. I am confident that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany will continue to develop. I am very pleased with our meetings and the results of our talks in Berlin. I am deeply convinced that the agreements reached will serve for the benefit of the future of the two peoples,” the congratulatory telegram reads. President Jeenbekov invited Steinmeier and Merkel to pay official visit to Kyrgyzstan, and wished them good health and further success, and the people of Germany prosperity and development. The German Unity Day is the National Day of Germany, celebrated on 3 October as a public holiday. It commemorates the anniversary of German reunification in 1990 when the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) and the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) were unified, so that for the first time since 1945 there existed a single German state.
