Kyrgyz Parliament speaker and KSA minister of environment, water and agriculture discuss cooperation issues

Within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the delegation of the Kyrgyz Parliament, led by Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, met with Minister of the Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman of KSA Abdulrahman Al Fadley. During the meeting, the issues of the implementation of previously reached agreements were discussed, including the increase in turnover and the organization of trade fairs. The sides also noted the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of tourism and agriculture, the press service of the parliament said. Dzhumabekov said that 2019 was a successful year in the development of political relations between the countries. “A number of necessary agreements were signed at a high level, important agreements were reached. Now we are faced with the task of continuing to actively strengthen political ties through the implementation of economic projects. Unfortunately, the trade between our countries is only USD 4 million and there is a great need to increase it,” he added. The Kyrgyz speaker also spoke about the possibilities of Kyrgyzstan in the field of tourism. “Last year, Kyrgyzstan was visited by 20 thousand tourists from Saudi Arabia. I am sure that with the opening of direct flights, this figure will increase significantly,” he said. In turn, Minister of the Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Al Fadley, emphasized that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is interested in dynamically strengthening cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic. “Of course, the organization of business forums, trade fairs will positively affect the promotion of our economic ties. Also, such events will contribute to the implementation of investment projects and increase the tourist flow,” he concluded.
