Kyrgyz President addresses Turkish parliament

ANKARA (A.A) - January 12, 2012 - Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambaev said on Thursday there was need for a stronger Turkic union. All Turkic Republics should be sound and stand on their own feet, said Atambaev when he addressed the Turkish parliament. Turkey was a shining star for Kyrgyz people, he said. Meanwhile, Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Atambaev held a press conference. Atambaev said Turkey and Kyrgyzstan had a common history and the two countries would have a bright future. The two countries should work to increase trade volume to 1 billion U.S. dollars, he said.
