Kyrgyz, Uzbek FMs discuss border issues and economic cooperation

Bishkek, Feb.3, 2020. /Kabar/. On Feb.3 Uzbekistan’s Tashkent hosted the bilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamliov. The meeting of the two FMs took place as part of the ministerial meeting in the C5+1 format, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported Monday. Aidarbekov and Kamliov discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation and further ways to enhance interaction. “Special attention was paid to the negotiation process on delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, issues of trade and economic cooperation, as well as joint efforts at multilateral sites,” the report says. The C5+1 (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States) multilateral forum was established in November 2015 at a ministerial meeting in Samarkand with a goal of expanding intra-regional cooperation and Central Asia’s relations with the United States.
