Kyrgyzstan raises issue of removing barriers at border with Kazakhstan

Bishkek, Mar.4, 2020. /Kabar/. The Kazakh capital city of Nur-Sultan hosted the meeting of Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan Jeenbek Kulubayev with Chairwoman of the Kazakh Senate Dariga Nazarbayeva, the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy reported on Wednesday. During the conversation, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral political, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian interaction, as well as further strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. Kulubayev particularly focused the interlocutor's attention on the cooperation issues between the two countries within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including the removal of existing barriers on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. The parties also noted the importance of implementing the agreements, reached during the state visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Kyrgyzstan on Nov. 27, 2019. The Kyrgyz ambassador conveyed a message from Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Dastanbek Dzhumabekov, inviting Dariga Nazarbayeva to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan in the near future. At the end of the meeting, Kulubayev and Nazarbayeva agreed to continue working contacts in order to promote further development and strengthening of interstate relations.
