LEADER OF MONGOLIA HOLDS PRIVATE MEETING WITH EC PRESIDENT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The leader of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj held a private meeting with the president of European Commission /EC/ Mr Jose Manuel Barroso at the Ceremonial Ger (national dwelling) of the State House on November 17. Mr Elbegdorj said that this visit--the very first at the EC president level--confirms that the EU attaches an importance to its relations with Mongolia. He stressed that that one of the priority directions and of long-term strategical targets of Mongolia is develop intensively relations and cooperation in all possible sectors with the EU and its member-states. He also underlined that Mongolia has declared the EU its Third neighbor. The President expressed a gratitude to the EU and its member-countries for the persistent support to a process of democracy, of society and economics reforms that took place in Mongolia, for sharing experiences and for giving us financial and technical assistance, and for actively boosting a development cooperation with Mongolia.
