Lebanese PM: Iran-Lebanon Will Have Stronger Ties In Future

Beirut, March 14, IRNA – Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said mutual relations between the two countries are old and strong, adding that the two nations will have stronger ties in the future.
He was talking in a meeting with President Ahmadinejad's Press Advisor Ali Akbar Javanfekr in Beirut on Saturday evening.
Mikati welcomed Lebanon's electricity purchase from Iran and said his cabinet agrees with it and there is no obstacle in transferring electricity from Iran to Lebanon.
Javanfekr, for his part, said that Iran and Lebanon are both in front line of fight against the Zionist regime and constant consultations between senior officials of the two countries are very important.
The president advisor said that First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi, who is chairman of joint committee will visit Lebanon in May 2012 to promote mutual relations.
He called the role of Najib Mikati in bilateral negotiation between Iran and Lebanon 'constructive” and added that among 30 signed agreements between the two countries, 9 cases have been approved by cabinet and we hope that the rest of them will be finalized soon.
On the construction of a power plant, Javanfekr said Iran is ready to do it as soon as Lebanese government announces its agreement./end
