Main opposition party adopts a new bylaw

ANKARA (A.A) - February 27, 2012 - Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) adopted a new bylaw during its 16th extraordinary congress meeting in Ankara on Sunday. The number of party assembly members dropped from 80 to 60, while the number of members in central executive board was set as 17 in the new bylaw which amended 47 articles and will take effect on March 1, 2012. According to the new bylaw, the party will send 40 percent of the financial assistance it received from the Treasury to the party organizations in provinces and towns. CHP congress meeting took place at the Ankara Arena Sports Hall.
