Meeting of Organizing Committee for Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan, Russia

Bishkek, Feb.20, 2020. /Kabar/. A meeting of the Organizing Committee for preparation and holding of the Cross Year of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kubatbek Boronov.
The first deputy PM emphasized the importance of high-level organization of planned events within the framework of the Cross Year, the press service of the Government reported.
"I would like to recall that a solemn opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan in Russia and Russia in Kyrgyzstan will be held on Feb.27 in Moscow. These and other important events should be qualitatively elaborated and held at a high level. It is important for the relevant state bodies of the country to solve all organizational and other issues for the successful implementation of the events, included in the Cross Year program," Boronov said.
During the meeting, the draft consolidated program (plan of events) of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia was discussed, as well as a number of organizational issues.
Note that, the decision to declare 2020 Cross Year between the two countries was taken by Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Russia Vladimir Putin within the frame of the Russian leader’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan on Mar.28, 2019.
Over 200 events in the spheres covering political cooperation, economic, cultural and humanitarian, scientific and educational, military and technical cooperation, interaction in the spheres of youth policy, tourism, healthcare, and interregional cooperation are planned within the framework of the Cross Year.
