Mehmanparast Meets With 3 Turkish Top Diplomats : AKP Official

Istanbul, Dec 29, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ramin Mehmanparast, here on Friday, discussed latest regional and international developments with three Turkish Foreign Ministry high-ranking officials and the deputy chairman in charge of foreign policy for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) . Mehmanparast had separate meetings with the Deputy Chairman in charge of foreign policy for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Omer Celik, Turkey's Deputy Foreign Minister Naji Koru, Deputy Foreign Minister in Regional Affairs Omar Unhan and the Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Selcuk Unal. Iranian Foreign ministry spokesman discussed ways of expansion of relations between Tehran and Ankara with the Turkish officials. He called for the stop of violence in Syria and resolution of the crisis through political dialogue. "Zionist regime and its allies do not want the return of peace to Syria and regional countries should help the resolution of crisis there." In their meetings with Mehmanparast, Turkish officials described the ties between the two nations of Iran and Turkey as historical stressed the expansion of relations with Tehran. They welcomed Iran's proposal to find a democratic solution to the Syrian political crisis and emphasized the importance of Tehran-Ankara cooperation on this issue. Mehmanparast also had a meeting with governor-general of Trabzon province in Turkey on Thursday./end
