Mehmanparast: PG Security Among Iran’s Top Priorities

Tehran, Jan 16, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Sunday that Iran attaches great importance to maintaining the security of the Persian Gulf region and this should be achieved through collective cooperation among regional countries. Mehmanparast made the remark in a meeting with a group of teachers in Tehran on Sunday. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic highway for transfer of energy which plays a prominent role in global economy and there is no doubt that maintaining the security of this region is among Iran’s priorities, he said. The Islamic Republic of Iran spares no efforts to maintaining the security of the Persian Gulf region, Mehmanparast underlined./end
