Mehr, Bernama explore ways to expand cooperation

KULA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Dec. 24 (MNA) – Iran`s Mehr News Agency (MNA) director Reza Moghadasi and Malaysia’s Bernama general manager Datuk Hasnul Hassan who met in Kula Lumpur on Thursday looked for ways to expand cooperation between the two news agencies. Moghadasi called on Bernama to expand its activities in the Middle East region, particularly on the recent developments in the region. Moghadasi is also the director of Tehran Times newspaper. Moghadasi said relying on its up-to-date news the Tehran Times website has succeeded to attract many users from the United States, Canada and European countries. For his part, Hasnul Hassan expressed satisfaction with the good relations between the two news agencies and said that Bernama is fully prepared to help the MNA to expand its activities in Southeast Asia and release its news in Malay language. Established in 2003, the Mehr News Agency releases news and photos in 7 languages: Persian, English, Russian, German, Arabic, Turkish, and Urdu. It also joined OANA in 2007.
