Military orchestra gives concerts

Pavlodar, 28 October 2008, (Khabar) - Musicians of the Kazakhstan Frontier Troops' artistic ensemble have given 5 concerts in the Pavlodar region with all performances taking place at the most distant frontier divisions.

Villagers of the Scherbakty district looked forward to listening to the
Military orchestra of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan. Zinaida
Zakharova was a war-time worker and her husband is a war veteran.

Zinaida Repchanskaya:
- They showed a good performance and sang very well. We all were pleased to
hear them. We wish there would never be any wars. Let there be only peace
and friendship.

There are 11 frontier troops divisions in the Pavlodar region. Since the
beginning of this year, the units' personnel have solved over 50 cases of
smuggling and detained dozens of smugglers. Alibek has served in the
artistic division for over 30 years now. During Soviet times, he performed
at the Pamir and the Caucasus. He also sang songs before the Soviet troops
in Afghanistan.

Alibek Zhanbyrbayev, honoured artist of RK:
- The ensemble does a great job of instilling a love of the homeland in
people and promoting frontier troop services. It helps young people choose
the service in the army. This is an elite troop.

Hundreds of enlisted personnel as well as commissioned officers go on duty
to guard the Pavlodar region's site on the Republican border.
